Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
My boyfriend works at an auto shop, as a mechanic. His boss informed him today, Friday, payday, that he has no money to pay his wages for the time he's worked. He is to be paid weekly. What can we do to get his pay? We have a small child to support and need that paycheck. Please Help!

I do not know how you can get money out of someone who doesn't have it, but I'd say a trip to see your attorney might be helpful and then looking for another job. I certainly wouldn't work for free. You might contact the office of the Labor Commissioner as they have some input into these matters.
