Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
The company had a good financial year & gave bonuses (not tied to any individual performance) to all employees except one. HR says that (female) employee doesn't get the extra bonus because she already gets a bonus as part of her salary (amount based on her yearly performance). Is this legal?

Iowa is a right to work state. That means you can be fired for any reason good reason or no reason at all, unless you have a contract of employment or are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. That also means the company can set any sort of rules it likes.
