Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

I am an employee of the county, I am the head of a department and was promised when I started the job 7 years ago that I can take the work truck home at night when I go. recently the county Heads, have been talking about pulling the vehicle away from me as part of saving money. as the truck was promised when I started the job and I have driven the truck for 7 years I feel this is a benefit being taken away and would like compensation in return???
