Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
Employer is addicted to crack and is forging company checksick
Our bookeeper has been assigned
the duty of signing our company
checks as a safe gard to keep the
owner from dipping into the
company funds. He is drawing a
regular salary however when he runs
low for his addiction he request
additional checks for himself.
Recently he has taken one further
step and is now taking blank
company checks and forging our
bookeepeers signature. He will not
presently discuss the situation and
she is at wits end on what to do.
She is fearfull that if she does not
comply he will retalliate by firing her
for insubordination to avoid paying
her unemployment. What can we or
she do? Urgent, please help!

I know it sounds harsh, but so long as she chooses to work for someone like that, she is doing this to herself.
Bookkeeping is a valuable skill, so the only advice that I feel is worth giving is to protect herself by keeping a diary and making copies of the books and then getting the heck away from this guy.

She needs to immediately consult with an Iowa criminal defense attorney to get advice so she can protect herself.
