Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
My employer requires their employees to be "on call" on weekends approx. once a month and holidays without financially compensating us. We are not able to leave town or even drink should an emergency service call come in requiring us to go to work. Wouldn't they have to financially compensate us somehow. I work for a small (less then 20 employees) family owned business.

No. Iowa is a right to work state which means you can be terminated for any reason, good reason, or no reason at all. That's the rule we live by, and the implications for you are obvious.
