Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
Employment Relocation Agreement
I have an employment agreement requiring 24 months of service in return for relocation expenses. Three months before the agreement was to end, I advised my manager (who had asked if I was looking for other opportunities) that I was planning to resign after the agreement ended. I was immediately terminated before the agreement end date. The company is now looking for reimbursement of the relocation expenses. As I did not voluntarily terminate my employment - the only cause for reimbursement in the agreement, am I responsible for the reimbursement?
