Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
Is it legal or ethical for the chief of police and the city attorney to attempt to persuade a citizen to file assault charges against her arresting officer in exchange for dropping/reducing her charges in order to force the officer to resign or be fired? This city has a history of forcing veteran officers out especially those who are the union steward. Is this a matter for the state legal ethics board?

Far too hypothetical a question, I'm afraid. It reeks of suspicion and paranoia.
