Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

I have been offered a contract for a year by a university as a Research Fellow. Our contract was $50000 a year and $2000 for moving. I accepted the offer and signed it. I started working for them in September in October 20th they changed a contract to $39 000 for 10 months and a summer job for $13 000. They did not give me the moving money. They employed me as faculty but the new contract has a summer compulsory employment. This has made me bring too little at home to my family. I had an emotional rollercoster that caused me to have a miscarriage on the 14th of December. Please I need your help what must I do. Is this not a breach of contract and am I suppose to suffer this much. I have PhD, in mathematics education. I graduated in Buffalo, NY. I am a South Afican citizen and on J1 visa. Is there anything I can do to challange this.

I suggest that you contact a specialist in employment law. It is not one of my areas of expertise. What I don't understand is how you're not bringing home enough money if they're paying you the same amount of money. It looks to me like they folded your moving money into the summer contract.
