Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
I was offered a severence package which I accepted. But before I got my package I had surgery and was on medical. At that time I was told I would get my package once I was released from my Dr. Now that I have been released my employer says things have changed and want me to return to work. I have a certified letter from them stating I was getting the severence package. Can they legally do this?

You could maybe sue them for breach of contract or something if you have a written agreement to that effect, but remember that Iowa is a right to work state which means you can be terminated for any reason, good reason or no reason at all unless you have a contract of employmenyt or are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
