Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

Polygraph

There was money stolen from my employer. There were several people that had access to it but there is no proof that anyone took it. Now they want to have us take a polygraph that I do not want to take. Can they force me? If I take it and it says I'm lying can they release that information to future employers calling for references? Am I better off refusing?

Re: Polygraph

If you are the thief, do NoT take the P-graph, but hire a CRIMINAL attorney NOW.

The theft charge will be far worse on your record than a termination.

You may be able to do a deal (restitution + no adv. Employment report) if you have rep.

Otherwise you will be SOL, now and LONG into the future.
