Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

I am having a problem with the State of Iowa unemployment department. I have been unemployed for 6 weeks now. Due to a glitch in their computer system (my previous employer told me this) I am waiting for them to verify my wages for the last year (I have faxed mu W2) The only response I get from them is... "could take weeks, could take months, could take longer" Is there any liability? My bills are stacking up and I may be evicted.

You have to get out in front of this. I'd take my W2s and sit in their office and not go away until they fixed the problem.
