Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

i recently was fired when i returned from a two day vacation that i had verbally been ok'd for by my supervisor. he said he just didn't remember him okaying my time-off, it is status quo to just ask for time off, not in writing. do i have recourse. this is not the only incident i have had with this supervidor since he took over 1 month ago.

sincerely,

dawn
