Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa
Vacation Pay at Termination
My wife recently took a new job. At her old job she had accured 70 hours of vacation time. Her employer maintanined
she needed to give 30 days notice in order to get any accured vacation time money. She gave them 2 weeks notice. They claim they do not have to pay her the 70 hours worth of vacation. Can they do this? It does not say anything about 30 days notice in the employee handbook. Just says 2 weeks. Thank You.

Re: Vacation Pay at Termination
SOunds like a contract violation.
Is she in a union?
Has she made written demand for the vacation time?
How much is at stake?
