Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

i work in a nursing home in the dietary dept. The dining room people are required to chart meal intake. But there is one person is exempt from doing this because she has been there for many years and is an older lady. Yet there is another older lady whohas been there just as long as she has and is required to do this. Yet the other day I was written up and demoted because I did not do this.
