Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa

I came back to my apartment shared by myself and one roommate after a trip and was handed a form that if I signed would release my roommate from the lease. I did not sign the form under my own will (I was forced to sign it). The form has lines for witness signatures next to where I signed. I made sure to call my landlord before the paperwork was turned in to say I didn't want the form signed. They went ahead and filed the forms and now my roommate is off the lease leaving me with rent. Do I have any claim against my roommate or landlord?

The fact of the matter is that you did not have to sign it and you did.
