Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa

Collecting back rent from tenant who no longer lives in apt

I own a house and have 4 tenants. One of my tenants moved in and lived here for 3 months and then moved out without notice and has not paid me any rent. He did not have a job at the time but now he does. I have talked to him via phone until the last few weeks as he won't return my calls. I have all my tenants sign a contract. What will it cost me to get a judgement so I can garnish his wages and can I charge him interest for the back rent he owes me? Thank you

DO you have tenant's new address?

I would need to review lease to determine collectibility issue. Does lease have attorneys fees clause? If so it may pay to turn over to attorney.

I have been a LL 28 years.
