Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
My daughter moved into an apartment over a year ago and since day 2 complained about bed bugs. Her landlord has given her spray to apply, but this does nothing. The infestation is so bad she cannot even bring her purse with her anywhere because they have nested in it. I have reported this to the city, to the managers of the complex and the city has informed the owner. Can we sue them for not providing her with an enviorment that is suitable for human beings to be living in? We live in iow

The prudent thing to do would be to move to another apartment. Of course you can sue them, but the question will be "How much are the damages?" There's no big payday here because you'd have to fund litigation up front.
