Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
A financial judgement was filed against me and paid in 2004. Due to a clerical error, the leasing company who filed the judgement didn't report it to the county as having been paid until 2008. If I had been marked paid in 2004 it would no longer show up on my credit report. I have contacted the leasing company to correct this issue and i have been ignored every time. What are my legal options to make them rectify this situation?

You can always have your version of the facts included in your credit reports through the three reporting agencies. You could sue the leasing company, but you'd have to prove your damages and unless you can show actual concrete losses you're going nowhere. I suggest you have your attorney send them a nastygram but if they do not want to play ball there's very little you can do without costing a lot of money and little chance of a payday at the other end.
