Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
So my landlord and i made an agreement that if i paid the fee for getting out of the lease, he would send me a letter stating i was no longer responsible for the lease or apartment, i sent him the 1000 dollar check, he cashed it, and since then he has yet to send me any documentation stating im released from the lease, he also does not respond to text messages or answer phone calls, what can i do to get my paper work releasing me from the lease?

Unless you have some sort of written agreement it's problematic. Best bet, hire an attorney to write the landlord a nastygram. We're good at that.
