Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
Laws related to Landlords entry into Tenants House
Me and my roommate where had a bit of a band practice at 5pm on a tuesday afternoon when our landlord came storming into our house yelling at us as loud as she could that we were not allowed to do ''band stuff'' in our house. I had a talk with her boss and she stated if they knock and we do not answer and the disterbance persist that they have the right to enter our house. Yet our lease says nothing of the sort. Only that they can enter if giving reasonable notice to tenant (for inspection or maintance) or if its a life or death situation. Which this was neither. Does our landlord have the right to freely enter our house as she did to stop a nosie disterbance?

Re: Laws related to Landlords entry into Tenants House
As a landlord (25years) and a keyboardist with a rock & roll past (35 years), I can state without qualification that unless there is an "emergency entrance" clause in your lease, the landlord has no right of entry without reasonable advance notice.
(He may always call the cops, but unless there is a noise ordinance, you're in the clear.)
