Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
I am on a lease to an apartment building and have gotten ticketed for noise complaints and disorderly house before. My landlord and I agreed that if our apartment were to get in trouble again, we would be evicted. So my question is if i have friends over for a small get together and the cops come knocking at my door, do i 1) have to open the door 2)talk to them through the door 3) if i dont talk to them or answer the door, can i keep playing my music and everyone keeps doing their own thing? Also, I know for a fact that the cops have lied about us receiving a noise complaint, so if the cop were to claim that we had a noise complaint, how can we have them prove this?

The simple answer would be to avoid this problem in the future by leading a quiet life. You'll get nowhere by claiming the cops faked a police report.
