Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
I live in an apartment with a bat infestation. I am sure there is a colony of bats holed up inside the building's structure. I had a bat in my apartment last night. I couldn't trap it so I made sure it was shut out of my bedroom. I looked for it this morning and couldn't find it. I left a window open this morning so it could fly out if it is still here. My landlord was here this morning looking for it. How long should I give him to take action? What is the next step if he doesn't take action to get the bats out of the building?

You may want to consult with your city or county health department. Bats can and often do carry rabies.
