Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
we live in iowa. I have durable power of attorney. I served the tenant with a certified notice of termination of farm tenancy. my mom passed away before the tenant signed for the papers. Can he still farm the land next year or is it legal since he did not sign for it before my mom passed away.

The correct answer is you had a durable power of attorney which has now ended with your mother's passing.
Iowa Code 562.5-7 describes the method of service. If you didn't get it right you've got until September 1. On the other hand if your mother is now deceased your ability to act on her behalf is now nonexistent unless you're the estate administrator.
