Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Iowa
I signed a lease to a apt. to move in May 1rst. The tenants had been asked to leave because of failure to pay rent for 2 months. They never left. There was a court hearing the 3rd week of May and the tenants never showed. I'm still waiting to move in. When my landlord asked his lawyer what was taking so long What I was told is their only answer was they new what they were doing. Why I have know doubt they do, I still can't believe there is not something else that could have been done all ready to expedite this whole procedure. I'm legally disabled receiving S,S,I,, and have been sleeping in a chair for 6 weeks waiting for this to play out. Help!
