Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Iowa

Ok I live in a very small town. Our city clerk supposedly didn't charge herself or her son water bills for years, she also paid her son when he was not working. Also he had a credit card of the cities that he was charging fuel on that was not being used for official business. SHe resigned when this all started to come out. The town council is not going to even really investigate this and it is being kept quiet. As a tax paying citizen of this community what rights do I have to force the council to hold her accountable, or can we bring suit against the city?

The question is whether you have standing to sue. Unless this has caused you personally to lose money or suffer some concrete injury, I do not see that you have standing to sue. Your remedy is at the voting booth.
