Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa
i brought a car into a scrap yard for a friend last month because the car was parked at a rest area for 4 days he said the tranny was out my friend had me meet him at the car with a car dolly . he had the keys for the car and drove it on the dolly . i brought it to scrap yard got 256 dollars for it. i then went back to give him the money. and he gave me 56 $ for my time. About 3 weeks after that i went back to scrap yard to get rid of more scrap! i got into the office an was sitting there and all of a sudden the owner and another worker came in locked the doors and the owner said that car i brought in was stolen and it was his best friends daughters car! and he punched me in the nose and broke it ! i was on the ground and he got on top of me and smashed me on back of the head splitting me open. then he had his worker call the cops. the whole time waiting for the cops he was threating me saying i better tell the cops i stole the car. then he told his worker to call his best friend to see if he wanted a piece of me before the cops got there! I was in total shock and begging him to stop ! and tried telling him my side of the story . he keep saying shut the F.. up or he was gonna shut me up for good. thank god the cops got there first. i tried telling them i didnt know the car was stolen. anyways i told cops i think my nose was broken and my head was bleading i needed to get to hospital.first responders and ambulance get therei went to hospitl got x rays and 5 staples in my head. i told cops the better arrest him for doing that to me. they said the owner had the right to resist me untill they got there. so no charges on him!!! and then we got back to police station and i got charged for a felonY possion a stollen car! i know the owner should not be able to beat the hell out of me! can i sue him and his company ? and for pain an suffering please help me get the anwsers thanks

I think suing the junkyard owner is the least of your problems right now. You should be talking to your attorney.
