Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa

I got a citation for driving under suspension on 1/31/11. The policeman said I should have gotten a letter from the IDOT in October. I was with my mom alot then as she had a serious heart attack and I would check my mail every few days. I dod not recall getting it. I was involved in an accident in April of 2010 and had no insurance on my car at the time. The car I hit I am paying back State Farm attorneys since October but the IDOT will not take a promisary note just the agreement form and will not issue me a work permit to drive. How I am suppose to make money when I can not drive and the State Farm lawyers have not faxed my agreement form,I would think the promisary note is just as good.

The DOT sent you a letter by certified mail and I can almost guarantee you that when the time comes they will produce a copy of the green card from the post office. Your problems are now with the department of transportation. Don't drive any more.
