Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa

False personal injury claim and attempt to collect it

A flag woman at a construction site stood in front of my car and pounded on the hood. She was threatening and intimidating as she inappropriately screamed through my window and pounded on my car. Because of the threatening nature, I did not want to roll down my window and could hear her fine through the window. A man threatened to call the police. It was a bizarre situation and it seemed best to avoid, so I decided to turn around and go back the way I came avoiding the construction zone altogether. My car had been stopped. I turned it around, The woman claimed I ran over her toe. She didn't move when she saw my car turning around. Her companies worker's comp. insurance company wrote me saying they will subrogate. They want money from me and want me to call them.

Should I call them? What should I do? I feel I am the one who was harrassed, threatened and somewhat assaulted at this scene. It seemed really out-of-place. Should I press criminal charges against the woman and her company for their wrong. Please help and please answer soon if you have no conflict of interest with parties.

Re: False personal injury claim and attempt to collect it

You need to contact your own automobile insurance carrier immediately and provide them with a copy of the letter you received. They will take it from there. Anything further please advise.
