filing a claim for a law suit

How long do I have to file a claim for a law suit for a personal injury. One attorney said he thought it was 6 months from the date of the injury.

It depends on many things but generally in Iowa the statute of limitaions is two years from the date of accident/injury. See a lawyer and get specific advice. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.
