Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa
Adverse Possession or what?
My father purchased land in Iowa and was shown the boundry lines in 1981. On this land sits a house. In 1995 or thereabouts, his neighbor purchased land next to my father's and then came and told my father that he owns one-half of his house. He then began to park vehicles on the property. My father told him that he does not own one-half of his house. My father was very poor and twice he did contact two different lawyers to try and settle this matter but the lawyers did not take the case. My father has since passed away after living on this property for 20 yrs. I now own the property and the neighbor has barracaded me out of the house. Is this Adverse Possession or something like (blank) by aquasition? I heard the term but I cannot spell it or say it correctly.
Thank you.

Re: Adverse Possession or what?
The only way you are going to know where the boundary lines are located is to hire a surveyor.
