Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa

I bought 2 acres of land from my brothe, that was separated from a hundred acres.i just recently found out he had a lien on the land and there is suppose to be an auction next month for the land.I am just wanting to know what will happen to my two acres with my house, and what I can do about it.

Assuming there was a lien on the entire 100 acre parcel, and you obtained 2 acres from those 100 acres without doing anything to release the lien as the the 2 acres you obtained, you might have a problem. You might be able to negotiate a release with the lien holder. You might have some traction if this property is your homestead. In any case, you need to contact an attorney immediately.
