Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa

my brother gave his house to my dad, sold it to him and my dad had a girlfriend at the time he was living with. Seeing how my father never bought any property in his life he did not know he had to sign something or not. HOWEVER THE GIRLFRIEND DID. and in knowing such information she lied ot my dad and told him , No there wasn't anything he needed to sign. Took my brother down to the tite office to make the deal and had the house totally put in her name only. NO they are not common law, hell she claims she won't even sleep with my dad yet she has all of his properyt and anything and everything in her name and once all the things shew anted was in her name, she kicked my dad out of the house He is 70 and she has such a papertrail that it shows she has been putting anythign and everything of his in her name. Now they are telling us there is nohtign we can do about it. The law won't arrest her for property fraud at all and they are telling us there is nothing we can do. I don't believe that anyone can own properyt they obtain by withholding information known facts and being decietful yet in this state of Iowa there is no protection for oeple who are down right swindled out of their property. What are we to do?

The problem I see is that unless your father is adjudged to be incompetent, he's considered to be capable of managing, or mismanaging his own affairs unaided by helpful or well intentioned offspring. In short, he's the victim, and not you or your siblings. The liberty to make decisions that are ill advised is his right. You might be able to get the attorney general's office interested. Have you tried talking to them?
