Completed contract for deed

We are on our last payment for a contract for deed. I have a final payoff amount and will request a release along with a deed to record. What other documents do I want to make sure I get in order to have clear title?

No release is necessary, but a properly prepared and executed deed is certainly required. I would suggest having an attorney review the deed before you finalize the transaction. I would also suggest having an attorney review the updated abstract, just to ensure nothing has occurred since you last had it reviewed (you did have an attorney review the abstract before you executed the contract, correct?).
