Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa

Easment

An easment runs through my property. My question is, is the easment accesible to the public or just to the adjacent landowner?

Re: Easment

Easements can be private or public. So the answer to your question could go either way. You have to find the document which creates the easment and see what it says - in whose favor does it run?

While you are at it, look and see what the easment is for. Ingress and egress? Utilities? Drainage? Power lines? What? That could make a big difference too. There's about a million different kinds of easements.

Good luck.
