Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa
our neighbors have their central air unit sitting on our property,they refuse to move it , we have been told that they are selling their house and we want to know if we can place a lein on their property so they can't sell it unless they move the central air.

The answer to that question is no. You should file a lawsuit to make this a matter of record and a cloud on title.

You cannot lien their property without a valid court judgment, or their consent. Depending on how long this air conditioner has been located on your property, you might have a problem with your neighbors being able to claim a prescriptive easement. You might want to discuss your specific situation with an attorney before you do anything else.
