Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa
I purchased a home in Iowa 3 years ago, and found a number of undisclosed serious problems with the home during the first year of ownership. It seems clear that the previous owner lied on the property disclosure about standing water in the yard and previous water intrusion. I would not have paid what I paid for the home had these issues been disclosed, and selling the home will be a lot harder when I have to disclose these issues. I feel cheated out of about $30k. Do I have a legitimate legal suit under which I have a reasonable expectation of collecting compensation or just a case of being bitten by "buyer beware"?

You can sue them-which is all the remedy you have. I suggest you contact an attorney who specializes in this kind of work. A nastygram may bring some results.
