Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Iowa
Written consent to remove hottub
I am buying a house under a contract with the owners. A few months ago I had the hottub removed because I didn't want it. The owners knew that I had it removed but didn't say anything about it. Recently I had a disagreement with the owners, and now they say that I am in breach of the contract, because I didn't give them written notice before removing the hottub, as the contract requires. What can they do? Make me replace the hottub. Foreclose on the home? Cancel the contract, making me forfeit the 20% downpayment?

Re: Written consent to remove hottub
Depending on what the contract says, the contract sellers could well do any of those things.
