auto accident on personnal property
our vechile was involved in an auto accident in a shopping mall. we were told this is personnal property and each person is responsible for there own vechile repairs only. is this true. or was the person at fault for the accident liable to make repairs to the other persons vechile? there was only taillight damage to our vechile , but passanger door damage to other persons vechile. Accident occured while backing out of a parking space at local mall.

Not true. A parking lot that is accessible to the public is a public space. Think it through. If A owns a parking lot and B hits C's car in the parking lot, what difference does A's ownership make as far as what B did to C?
