Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa
Automobile accident repair
In May my husband was stopped at a red stoplight behind a city owned pickup and the driver of the pickup reversed and hit our car. We submitted 2 repair estimates (which the city asked for) the same week the accident happened. After many calls by my husband to the city in question and getting a different response each time he has called, they are now telling us that they sent the check directly to the repair garage. My question is why couldn't the city in question have made the check out directly to us since we own the vehicle outright and owe nothing on it? After checking with the repair garage that was suppose to have received the check (which they do not have yet) another question I have is how long are we suppose to wait to receive reimbursement? The accident happended in early May and here it is already close to the middle of July and we still have no results.

If they didn't pay you, you sue them. That's your remedy.
