Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa
Car inpounded and liscense taken
I had not put on my stickers for the 2004 year. I received a couple tickets for that in 2 hours. I paid the tickets in June; but the Patrol inpounded my car and took my liscense because she said I had unpaid tickets. This was done a month after the tickets were paid. I have the cancelled checks of those payments. What must I do to get my liscense back? I work from 6am-7pm daily does this mean I will have to take a day or two off because someone didn't post the payments yet?

Yes, I think you are going to lose at least a day's work to clear this up.
I would suggest that you check ICIS online (the Iowa Court Information System) available thru the supreme court website and make sure there is nothing else lurking in your past that you may have forgotten about. I would also obtain copies of the summons from the clerk of court in the county you got the summonses in that show that they were paid. I'm troubled by the extreme nature of what happened to you-there may be something else going on that you are not aware of.
