Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

Legal question, can't sleep without answers

While driving my husband and kids through county in Iowa on the way to the funeral this fall, I was pulled over by city police officer. I did not have proof of insurance or liscense plates on the car. I was issued two tickets one for each offense. My husband said that he would take care of the fines, and I forgot about them. My husband did not pay the fines, my liscense was suspended, and the county issued--name removed--Contempt of Court hearing. My husband did not tell me about any of the mailed notices. I found out by cleaning for our move. Now, we have moved to another state and I am unable to answer court charges due to pregnancy. What can I do now?

You're going to have to call the county attorney's office and try and explain your case and what you propose to do about it. A good start would be a nice big chunk of cash to pay the fines. That would show your good faith.
