Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

Passenger rights

My daughter was a minor in a car with a friend who was pulled over, the office request id from all the kids in the car and since my daughter has no licence he made her give him her social security number. Can he do that? She commited no crime and he had no probable cause to request this infromation when I called about it he claimed it was for their records but she was not the driver. I have searched for any law to tell me and cannot find anything. Please help me and if it was or wasn't legal. And the accual law. Thank You

The answer to your question was in yesterday's Register.
