Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

I was pulled over and charged with "violation of conditions of restricted license" i was driving my wife and child home because she cannot drive a manual car. i was pulled over because my license plates were wrong. they were the plates the state had issued me. they had made a mistake when my car was registered. the plates the officer wrote on the ticket are the ones that should have been on the car, but when we went to get the plates fixed they issued us different plates and a letter explaining their mistake. so the plates on the ticket never physically existed. would this be a reason that the ticket should be dismissed? i do not want to lose my license if i have a chance to fight it, but i will just pay the ticket if i cannot win. i do not have the money for an attorney so any advice will be helpful, thank you.

They're not going to dismiss the ticket. You can plead not guilty and have a trial in front of the magistrate.
