Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

Speeding and License Plate conceled

Hi, I got pulled over recently for speeding in Iowa, near Mason City, and when the cop pulled me over he asked me how fast I was going and I told him my cruise control was set somewhere from 75 - 80 which was the truth, but he kept asking me if I was going to tell him the truth, and he finally said he would give me one more chance to tell the truth but I stuck with what I originally said, because I didn't know what he was looking for, he also accused me of owning a radar detector, which I have never had, he eventually told me I was going over ninety when he passed me in the other lane, and I looked over at him and put on my breaks, but the first time I saw him was when he pulled up behind me, and I was going about 78, so he gave me a ticket for going 79 in a 70 and also a ticket for my license plate being covered, by the license cover, but it is the same plate cover that came with the car from the dealership, and nothing is covered, he made it seem that the only reason he gave me the tickets was because I would not tell him I was going 90. So I just want to know if I can do something, thanks

If you were speeding as you say, how about paying the ticket? You can do that.
