Speeding Ticket Question

I received a speeding ticket the other day on a highway. I was in the southbound lane and the police office passed me in the north bound lane. I saw him turn around and then he followed me for 5 miles before he turned on his lights. I asked him why he waited so long to pull me over. He said he was looking for a safe place to pull me over. Anyone who's ever traveled that road knows the road is the same through the whole state. I was also 3 or 4 car lengths behind a 10 ton truck. How does he know it was me, and why did honestly wait so long to pull me over? Is there a time limit until a pull over would expire? And is it necessary for them to make me wait in his car while he writes me a ticket? What ever happened to wait in your own car?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Re: Speeding Ticket Question

If you were caught on radar it's pretty sophisticated and can discriminate between targets quite well. If you feel you need to contest the ticket, by all means plead not guilty. It'll cost you no more in fines and it will be a wonderful civics lesson. Of you can hire an attorney.
