Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

Last summer I was at a local convience store, one of the local city officer followed me into the parking lot. I got out of my pick up and was approaching the store entrance, when I heard the officer yell, I couldn't understand what he said so I turned and approached the squad car. The Officer drew his gun on me and told me to get back in my truck, that he was going to write me a seatbelt ticket. I'm a 29 year old white man I 've lived in and around this community of under 4000 people my entire life. I have never been in trouble with the law. This officer was new to the community so he did not know me. Not that that was a reason to pull his weapon on anyone. And I question if it was even legal.

In the last 4 months this same officer has pulled me over 3 more times. One of those occassions was late at night and he thought I had been drinking. He even called in back up officers and made a huge scene. I had been working at my shop and had not been drinking. Until this point the only ticket this Officer has been able to site me for was the seatbelt. This morning on my way to my new job in a neighboring community he pulled me over again. Claimed I was speeding had it on radar, there was a car right infront of me. I asked to see the reading on the radar and he refused me. I was not speeding. He held me up for over 20 minutes making me late for work. I believe this office has it out for me and I can't understand why. Could I get some advise on how to handle this situation, I'm afraid if I complain to the Chief it will only get worse.

As a practical matter you can do one of two things-move away, or hire an attorney to represent your interests before the chief-somehow it always sounds better coming from an attorney. Best of lick to you, as well.
