Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa
Traffic violation
I live in Missouri but got a ticket over Easter Weekend..up in Iowa where I was visiting family. I hit another car.. got ticket for following too closely. It says I have to appear in court..cannot pay by credit card or check? Does that mean I do have to drive back up there ..and should I have a lawyer with me when I go to court?

Re: Traffic violation
You should hire an attorney in the county in Iowa where your court date is. The attorney might be able to save you a trip to court in person and, more importantly, may be able to prevent you taking a conviction which will result in points being assessed against your driving record here in Missouri. If you do not know an attorney in that area, check out Findlaw.com or call the local bar association. Good luck.
