Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

Someone got in my truck, and backed into a persons vehicle. I then got into my truck about 5 minutes after this happened, and went home. That person then proceeded to contact me about it telling me that someone saw it was me in my truck, but it was not. The sheriff told me that I could be faced with leaving the scene of am accident. I had no idea of this happening. What could I potentially be dealing with record-wise and financially? Also, there are supposedly 2 witnesses who saw it was me for sure, but is not possible considering I did not do it.

So you're saying that somebody else did all this but there are witnesses that say otherwise? It would be a good idea to get yourself an attorney if you intend to fight this.
