Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Iowa

My father has an irrevocable trust and my brother and I are the only beneficiaries. My brother is the trustee. The trust is made up mostly of farm ground and my brother farmed this ground with my father on a 50/50 farm arrangement. Because of self dealing case he still farm this if the trust is not settled?

Also when you read a trust and it says that a prior loan balance from one beneficiary is due the other, but you also offset any gifts from 1990 to current. Can the trustee ignore this because he is the one that got the gifts in excess of $300K
