Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Iowa

my mother left a will leaving her home to me and my three sisters. Title 19 now wants to be repaid $22,000 for her medical care in nursing home facility. Does this will have to go to probate? If so, how long do we have before we must pay the lien or they will foreclose and sell for the lien amount. Her home is paid for. The home is located in Iowa with the eldest child living in that home at this time.

All decedent's estates in Iowa must go through the probate court.
